Here are Apple's iPhone releases since its debut in 2007

"Say Hello to iPhone."
The iPhone was released on June 29, 2007 in the United States where thousands of people were reported to have waited outside Apple and AT&T retail stores days before the device's launch; with many stores reporting stock shortages within an hour.
Units sold 6.1 million.



iPhone 3G, introduced in June 2008

The iPhone 3G was not much different from iPhone 2G. However, it had some nice tweaks such as assisted GPS, support over 3G networks and a Tri-band UMTS/HSDPA support feature.






Phone 3GS, introduced in June 2009

The iPhone 3GS introduced on June 8, 2009. The S stood for speed. The 3GS was faster, with a better camera and download speed up to 7.2 Mbit/s.



Phone 4, introduced in June 2010

Retina display introduced to the iPhone 4. It became popular due to several new features such as listening to music, push email, reading E-books, FaceTime but its antenna had the “death grip” problem.






Phone 4S, introduced in October 2011

It took Apple 16 months to offer the 4S. Among other improvements regarding its camera, It came with a faster A5 processor and a virtual assistant called Siri.



September 21st, the release date for the iPhone 5.

The excitement of the rumor mill, the titillation of every leaked photo led to higher than ever levels of expectation for the iPhone 5, and while the announcement was greeted with some derision at the lack of perceived headline improvements, the record sales tell an entirely different story.
